Dr Alan Belward (JRC) joins 2017 courses
The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) confirmed contributing to ISEPEI courses in 2017. Dr Alan Belward, the Head of the Knowledge for Sustainable Development & Food Security Unit, will run a day long session within the course on "Geospatial Technologies for Sustainable Water Management" on July 3-7th. Dr Belward already participated to similar ISEPEI's courses in 2016 with a series of very succesfull presentations and practical exercises on remote sensing and sattelite technologies. We expect 2 more JRC Units to be represented (Disaster Management and Water Resources) at this course as well as the second ISEPEI course "Innovations in Disaster Risk Reduction" on July 24-28th 2017.

The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) signed in 2016 a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central European University (CEU) that establishes the basis for future collaboration in a series of areas of common interest. Participation of JRC experts in ISEPEI's SUNs on using ICTs in achieving SDGs and Disaster RIsk Reduction in 2016 were the first joint activities outlined in MoU.
